Michael Cloeren was born on May 22nd
1957 in Philadelphia Pa. “While growing up in ‘Philly’ during the late
70’s and early 80’s I was privileged to witness some very memorable
blues shows at the legendary Chestnut Cabaret: Albert King, John Lee
Hooker,
Albert Collins and Johnny ‘Clyde’ Copeland to name a few, and
from that point on I was ‘Hooked on the Blues’ and have been ever
since.”
Michael is the Special Events Director and
Operations Manager for Jack Frost Mountain and Big Boulder Ski Area;
both premiere four-season resorts nestled in the heart of the Pocono
Mountains (www.jfbb.com).
Fifteen years ago Michael founded “The
Pocono Blues Festival”, a three day event which he produces, books and
directs, staged at Big Boulder Ski Area a natural amphitheater
setting. The Pocono Blues Festival is ranked as one of the ‘TOP’ Blues
festivals in the world.
Over the years The Pocono Blues Festival
has been host to some of the Greatest Blues Legends…. Such as Koko
Taylor, Buddy Guy, Bobby Rush, Charlie Musselwhite, Pinetop Perkins,
Luther Allison, Honeyboy Edwards, Johnny ‘Clyde’ Copeland, Ruth Brown,
Percy Sledge, James Cotton and Robert Lockwood Jr.…
