Sheryl Warner is a HELLUVA singer. The
woman can flat out sing. She's like the proverbial actor on a stage
that you can't take your eyes off.
The Homewreckers are an acoustic blues trio composed of vocalist,
guitar, and harp. The lineup includes Rick Manson on harp and Gregg
Kimball on guitar. The Homewreckers play almost exclusively pre-War
blues from the 1930s, although it is said that Manson's presence is
dragging them into the 1950s. At a recent gig, they opened with a
Sleepy John Estes number, Someday Baby, followed that with
numbers by Willie Brown and Blind Blake, and got to Big Bill Broonzy,
Blind Boy Fuller and Robert Johnson before the set was done. For
lovers of acoustic blues, it doesn't get much better than that.
The Homewreckers take a traditional approach to these classic blues.
They impart their own imprint, but in a respectful and faithful way.
