Banjo Dan & the Mid-nite Plowboys

One of New England’s most exciting acoustic bands, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys, will present a concert of original and traditional bluegrass music at Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival in Honesdale, PA on June 16th, 2012.  The show will feature original songs from the band’s latest CD, “Fire in the Sugar House,” along with a scintillating variety of old and new country songs, rousing fiddle and banjo tunes, gospel quartets, and imaginative adaptations of songs from a rich array of musical sources.

The Plowboys have been a top draw throughout the Northeast for over thirty years, have released a dozen recordings, and have several overseas tours to their credit. The upcoming concert marks their first appearance at Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival venue long known for fine music along with all sorts of artistic events.  “Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival is a knee-slapping good time”

A Banjo Dan performance is always full of energy, variety and spontaneous humor.  As the British Bluegrass News mused several years ago, “Why aren’t there more good times like these?”

Don’t miss out on an evening of New England bluegrass at its best!
